Muay Thai — the art of eight limbs. Strikes with fists, elbows, knees, and shins, plus clinch work and sweeps. An intense, dynamic workout that's highly effective for self-defense.

Jiu Jitsu isn't downloaded — it's played. We base our instruction around task focuses and a constraints-led approach (CLA): less memorizing fixed sequences, and more live problem-solving against a real partner. It's how you build skill that actually shows up when you roll — and it means a brand-new student and a black belt can train the same class and both get better.
Analog represents the human side of training. Pressure, timing, and connection — things you can't learn from a screen.
We use a modern, constraints-led approach that helps students learn through live training and exploration, building real skill that lasts.
Train smarter. Move better. Grow with intention. No reps for the sake of reps — every round has a purpose.
Analog Jiu Jitsu is a no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai academy in North Austin, Texas. Analog represents the human side of training — pressure, timing, and connection, things you can't learn from a screen. We use a modern, constraints-led approach that helps students learn through live training and exploration, building real skill that lasts. No reps for the sake of reps — every round has a purpose. The way we run our classes means that no matter what level you are, from total beginner to seasoned black belt, you'll be able to easily follow along and have a blast. We base our instruction around task focuses, so you don't need to understand jiu jitsu to be able to learn and have fun. Train smarter. Move better. Grow with intention.
A coach who invests in how you learn
At Analog Jiu Jitsu, our coaches are serious about being the best they can be — so they've joined a community of forward-thinking coaches, led by Greg Souders, who train with the constraints-led approach: a modern, games-based method grounded in motor-learning science. You learn by solving real problems on the mat — and build skill faster.

Co-owner and head instructor. A 3rd-degree BJJ black belt, Rudy started Brazilian jiu jitsu in 2005 and was awarded his black belt after 9 years from Cleber Luciano and Sean Cooper. He ran Violet Crown for 5 years and has taught locally for over a decade, with students achieving championships at local and national IBJJF tournaments. He's also a world-renowned Bboy who competed with Havikoro for 25+ years internationally. 21 years training, 18 years teaching — the focus has always been the students.

Co-owner and instructor. Training since 2016, Scott holds a brown belt. After discovering the Constraints-Led Approach, his perspective on instruction shifted — training became less about memorizing techniques and more about exploration, timing, and problem-solving. Originally from El Paso, he has known Rudy for nearly 30 years. Outside the gym he's a storm chaser with a long history in the music industry, from promoter to spending eight years managing hip hop artists on the road. Movement, rhythm, and energy have always been part of his world.

Instructor. A brown belt in jiu jitsu, Nick started training with Rudy Rexx in 2020 and shortly after began training judo under Tyrus Cox, currently holding a green belt as a member of the famed Kodokan Institute. He's had success in competition, but his favorite part of training is the community — and dropping into new gyms whenever he's on the road. Nick leads many of our morning sessions. Off the mats he works in tech and is an avid outdoorsman.

BJJ & Muay Thai instructor. A brown belt in BJJ who has simultaneously trained Muay Thai along her journey, Alix assists with women's self-defense workshops, Muay Thai classes, and BJJ classes. An amazing spirit at the academy, she teaches the Saturday 10am Muay Thai class. Her passion for both arts brings a unique perspective to training.

Muay Thai instructor. Ronaldo has practiced martial arts for 24 years, focusing mainly on striking. An amateur boxing champion in El Salvador with over 40 matches, he has also competed in MMA, kickboxing, and Muay Thai. Martial arts is his life, and he's passionate about teaching and helping others learn and grow in the sport.
