How we train

The Constraints-Led Approach

We don't drill techniques the old way. Instead of repeating a fixed sequence in a vacuum, students are placed in constrained games and live situations where they have to problem-solve. This ecological approach is how people actually learn movement — and it produces skill that shows up when you roll.

01

Learn by solving

Game-based, adaptive training where you discover what works for your body against real resistance — from day one.

02

Built for everyone

Kids and families build foundational skills while competitors sharpen a high-level game, all in the same room.

03

Skill that transfers

Instincts built through live practice adapt under pressure — on the mat and off it.

About

Why train at Jiu-Jitsu Unlimited

Welcome to Jiu-Jitsu Unlimited, an upbeat martial arts school in Sioux City, IA. Parents, kids, and competitors get started in a supportive, professional environment where students grow and learn while having fun. Our training uses a Constraints-Led Approach (CLA) — learning through dynamic movements and live situations that optimize your development rather than rote drilling. Through this ecological approach you'll build real problem-solving skills, confidence, and a game that holds up under pressure. Families and competitors train alongside each other, and many of the highest-level competitors in the Sioux City area train with us to bring home medals. Whether you're brand new or a seasoned grappler, there's nowhere better to build your skills.

A coach who invests in how you learn

At Jiu-Jitsu Unlimited, our coaches are serious about being the best they can be — so they've joined a community of forward-thinking coaches, led by Greg Souders, who train with the constraints-led approach: a modern, games-based method grounded in motor-learning science. You learn by solving real problems on the mat — and build skill faster.

This place is simply amazing. I'm 39 years old and have tried a handful of other gyms and none of them ever felt very welcoming or helpful. Everyone here makes you feel like part of the family from day one.
