No experience required. Start participating from day one in a structured, supportive, beginner-friendly environment.

One-level classes where everyone trains together. Each session provides challenge and growth for every participant.

Test your skills, measure progress, and be the best. Coach Nick has extensive competition experience as both competitor and coach.

1-on-1 coaching to deep dive into specific situations you want to understand and improve.
We coach using the Constraints Led Approach (CLA) — game-based, adaptive learning where you solve real grappling problems against fully resisting partners from day one. Instead of memorizing a bunch of steps and hoping they stick, you practice achieving specific goals against live resistance the whole time, finding solutions that work for your body and style and learning how to weave them together. It's why people improve fast, and why the training feels addictive.
100% live training with a resisting partner. We don't lecture during class — if it's 60 minutes, the goal is 48–54 minutes of active training.
You discover solutions that work for your size, strength, and style — not a fixed sequence that falls apart under pressure.
All classes are one level. Each session is structured to provide challenge, learning, and growth for every participant, beginner to competitor.
Coach Nick holds a master's degree in special education and spent two decades as a professional educator, bringing a structured, thoughtful approach to how people learn.
On Top Jiujitsu is Naples' home for practical, high-quality jiujitsu training, led by head instructor Nick Coletti — a first-degree black belt with 16+ years of training and 13+ years of teaching experience. We're a no-gi only school built around live, realistic training: a 100% Constraints Led Approach (CLA) where you train live every round, every class, every session. Our room looks quite different than a typical jiujitsu class — there's no long lecture, no endless drilling. If a class is 60 minutes, our goal is 48–54 minutes of active training, with protocols that reflect the members in the room for a personalized approach to skill acquisition. Whether you're stepping on the mats for the first time or you've been training for years, every class is one level — everyone trains together — and is thoughtfully structured to challenge and develop every student. A coach who invests in how you learn
At On Top Jiujitsu, our coaches are serious about being the best they can be — so they've joined a community of forward-thinking coaches, led by Greg Souders, who train with the constraints-led approach: a modern, games-based method grounded in motor-learning science. You learn by solving real problems on the mat — and build skill faster.

Training with Coach Nick has completely changed my approach to jiu jitsu. His framework and the way he breaks down concepts made everything click in a way it never had before. He without a doubt elevated my overall grappling pedigree. Coach Nick pushes people to improve without ever making it overwhelming, and every session feels purposeful. Anyone who trains at his gym is in the best hands possible.
IsaacPurple BeltCoach Nick is the rare combination of expert level martial artist and highly trained and accredited educator. My two oldest sons (10 and 8) and I have had the benefit of training with Nick extensively for the past 5 years. He is equally skilled in teaching and motivating a class filled with 20 children (ages 6–16) as he is leading an adult program (ages 17–60+). If you are fortunate to train in one of his classes or even better — as a private instructor — you will not be disappointed. He truly cares about the progress of each of his students and is constantly putting the work in to stay on the cutting edge of BJJ instruction.
Nick is an amazing coach! He has a rare combination of jiujitsu mastery, deep teaching expertise, and the ability to make it all fun. With his constraints-led approach, his classes keep you engaged and moving the entire session. Instead of memorizing a bunch of steps and hoping they stick, you practice achieving specific goals against live resistance the whole time, finding solutions that work for your body and style, and learning how to weave them all together. Whether you're a seasoned grappler or a total newb, super athletic or not at all, competing or just training for fun and fitness, Nick's coaching will do wonders for you.
Nick's strong passion and deep knowledge of Jiu Jitsu make every class a fun and growth-oriented experience. He puts a lot of thought into designing classes and games based on students' levels and progressions, helping us develop intuition and build techniques effectively. Nick's clear communication and unique coaching approach make complex Jiu Jitsu concepts and moves easy to understand and grasp. In addition, his effort to travel for out-of-town competitions to corner us shows his full commitment to students' progress. I can't recommend Coach Nick and his classes enough — it will definitely elevate your Jiu Jitsu greatly.
I met Nick during my very first jiujitsu trial class, but more than three years later I was still able to learn something new from him almost every day. As a coach and as a mentor, he was consistently one of the most helpful people on the mat, and was instrumental in helping me to shape my game. I would recommend his classes to everyone without hesitation, and I still hear his voice in my head when I roll: "Get on top, stay on top!"
An amazing person, BJJ black belt and instructor. The definition of positive mental attitude. Leg lock master and half butterfly king. Extremely funny and kind. Always a nice word for both the grommets and the adults, and brings a sense of humor to his techniques. Trained at a number of different gyms and brings a wide variety of skills to the mat. Thoroughly capable and top quality.
